The instrumental ensembles at HBC add richness to our musical offerings. The worship band leads Wednesday worship services and is the heart of our orchestra on Sundays. It is currently comprised of piano, keyboard, acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, and drumset. Membership is by audition or invitation, and is for players sixteen years of age or older with viable means of transportation. Interested players should request an audition with the Worship Minister.
Our orchestra elivens our 9:15 and 10:45 Sunday services by reflecting the drama of worship and invoking images of the attributes of God. It is the perfect opportunity for student musicians to continue using their skills after high school or college. Enrollment is ongoing and open to moderately skilled to professional players sixteen years of age or older with viable means of transportation.
The groups rehearse together on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 (following the worship service). The Worship Band also rehearses at 5:45 pm on Wednesdays and 8:30 am on Sundays.
Both ensembles lend their sounds to the annual Living Christmas Tree production and other special worship events throughout the year.
